We are home.  Finally, at about 9:30 tonight, as I lay in bed with Braedan, we heard Mark’s car pull up the driveway and off he ran, out of bed and down the stairs to greet his brother at the back door.  Amazing how many homecomings the little man has had in his short life.

It was a long day, with transfusions of both blood and platelets, coupled with much much waiting. His blood pressure dipped only ever so slightly and it wasn’t much lower when we were released than it had been at admission. Not quite sure what that’s all about or how we’re ultimately going to control it and what it will mean for the rest of his life. We’ve increased his primary blood pressure medicine, the best one for young children, tenfold since this round of cancer began in December. Tenfold. And now that we’ve maxed out his dosage on that one, we need to find something else that won’t cause too much other damage. Ugh. It is just never-ending.

But we did make it out to the pond at the art museum this morning while awaiting the arrival of his blood products. And even happened upon some geese with seven new baby goslings. I do so love the “urban oasis” location of our hospital.

And I did somehow manage to vote, after going to three different polling places before finding my spot.

And now, I will quickly manage to fall asleep in my own bed with my family under one roof.
